Plate magnets are cost-effective, robust magnets with a deep, powerful magnetic field. They are therefore suitable for removing medium to large ferromagnetic (Fe) particles from raw materials.
They can be easily installed in conjunction with existing setups. They can hang above a conveyor belt, be mounted on the side of a product channel, or installed beneath a passing product stream.
Plate/block magnets are also the building blocks in Goudsmit’s magnetic separation systems for relatively coarse product streams and large capacities. For instance, as part of Goudsmit’s chute magnets, external pole magnets, cascade magnets, and overband magnets.
Neodymium plate magnets are extremely powerful, compact, and lightweight. They are suitable for separating ferrous impurities from 30 µm to 3 mm. They are made of stainless steel and are waterproof. They are suitable for use in the food industry. They are manually cleaned (wiped).

Ferrite plate magnets are more affordable, less powerful, and larger compared to Neodymium plate magnets. They can be used at temperatures up to 100°C. They remove ferrous impurities from 0.5 mm. They are not suitable for weakly magnetic stainless steel.

Permanent suspension block magnets are suitable for removing steel parts, primarily in the recycling industry or for mill protection. They can be installed up to 400 mm above the conveyor belt.

Electro suspension block magnets are suitable for removing large steel parts from bulk flows or in the recycling industry. They are suitable for larger installation heights and can be turned on and off.
